Have you always wanted to access Antioch Public Library’s (APL) resources, but couldn’t because you didn’t have a library card? Even though the library is currently closed, you can now sign up online for a temporary library card. This library card will be your ticket to access our extensive online research tools and downloadable content that can be accessed 24/7.
​

Learning Resources 
  • Brainfuse provides free, live online tutoring from the hours of 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily.  The tutors are certified teachers who cover a range of subjects and grades from kindergarten through high school.
  • Gale Courses - offers a wide range of highly interactive, instructor led courses that you can take entirely online.   
  • Roseta Stone - offers interactive, in-depth learning of over 100 languages.
Research Resources
  • Gale Virtual Reference Library provides access to hundreds of full-text specialty encyclopedias on a range of topics relating to social sciences, humanities and more.
  • Master File - Full text magazine articles, periodicals and reference books covering a wide-range of subject areas. Also includes an extensive image collection containing photos, maps and flags.
Movies and Music  
  • Freegal makes available 5 free songs per week to download and keep from their extensive catalog of music.
  • Hoopla offers access tv shows, movies and comics; Items are never checked out, but monthly downloads are limited.
  • Kanopy has over 30,000 films, including award-winning documentaries, film festival favorites, indie and classic films. Limited to 5 checkouts per month. 
E-books and E-audiobooks
  • Hoopla offers access to e-books, e-audiobooks. Items are never checked out, but monthly downloads are limited.
  • Libby provides access to  e-book and e-audiobooks. The range of titles here is different than those offered by Hoopla.
