The Antioch District Library is here to support both students and teachers through the school year. You may have heard that District 117 now has an intergovernmental agreement with the Antioch Public Library District. This agreement enables all teachers to get a library card at our library. With this card teachers can use all of the resources offered by the library. To get your card, simply email your request to cpatterson@apld.info and your card will be dropped off at the school for you.

The library is looking forward to giving teachers and students access to all we have to offer!

Here are just some of the online resources the library offers:

Learning Resources
  • Brainfuse: provides free, online tutoring in many high school subjects from 2 p.m. - 11 p.m. each day.
  • Rosetta Stone: offers interactive learning of over 200 languages.
  • Gale Courses: are online, instructor-led courses that cover a range of business and personal development topics.

Research Resources
  • Master File: full text magazine articles, periodicals and reference books covering a wide-range of subject areas. Also includes an extensive image collection containing photos, maps and flags.
  • Academic Source Premier: provides acclaimed full-text journals, magazines and other valuable resources.
  • A to Z World Culture: offers detailed information on the culture of 175 countries worldwide including festivals, sports, food, religion and much more.

Movies and Music
  • Freegal: makes available 5 free songs per week to download and keep from their extensive catalog of music.
  • Hoopla: offers access to TV shows, movies and comics. Items are never checked out, but monthly downloads are limited.
  • Kanopy: has over 30,000 films, including award-winning documentaries, film festival favorites, indie and classic films. Limited to 5 checkouts per month.

E-books and E-audiobooks
  • Hoopla: offers access to e-books and e-audiobooks. Most items are never checked out, but monthly downloads are limited.
  • Libby: provides access to e-book and e-audiobooks. The range of titles here is different than those offered by Hoopla.
